Dr. Ania (1973) is Research Director at CNRS (CEMHTI, Orléans, France) since 2017 and Tenured Scientist at CSIC (INCAR, Oviedo, Spain) since 2009 (currently in leave of absence). She received her PhD from Oviedo University (Spain) in 2003. She held a visiting position at IS2M-CNRS (2010, France). She is Associate Editor of Adsorption Science and Technology (SAGE), and member of the Advisory Editorial Boards of Adsorption (Springer), J. Materials Chemistry A (RSC) and section Board of Molecules-Photochemistry (MDPI). She is board member of the International Adsorption Society since 2016.
She is a recipient of the national L’Oreal-Unesco 2008 Research Fellowship “For women in Science”, and the Excellence Research Award of Granada University, Spain (2008). She is an ERC grantee (European Research Council) since 2016.
Dr. Ania research activities focus in the design, characterization and application of nanoporous materials with tailored surface chemistry and pore architectures as structural and functional solids for high-tech applications, covering energy storage and conversion and environmental protection (e.g., photocatalytic, electroassisted advanced oxidation processes). She has published over 150 scientific papers and holds a citation index of 38.
